Jerry Leger is reissuing his recent albums Time Out for Tomorrow (2019) and Songs from the Apartment (2020) on vinyl, and ahead of those March 26 releases, the Toronto singer-songwriter has shared the new single "Jumped in the Humber."
The track is a folk rocking outtake from Time Out for Tomorrow (which was already available on vinyl, but now is coming out in an expanded deluxe edition). "Jumped in the Humber" takes its name from the Ontarian river, and, like the rest of the album, it was produced by Michael Timmins of Cowboy Junkies.
In a statement to Exclaim!, Leger said this about the song: "It's a moody tune and recording, an unsolved mystery, a mob hit in song. I dig the line 'You're hired if you know how to drive / Can you gun this sucker to the deep East side.'"
Vinyl copies of Time Out for Tomorrow and Songs from the Apartment are available from Leger's online store. Copies of the former album will come packaged with a copy of "Jumped in the Humber" on flexi-disc, plus bonus tracks and a signed poster.
