Jay Som (a.k.a. Melina Duterte) landed a spot on Exclaim!'s Top 20 Pop & Rock Albums of 2017 with Everybody Works, and now she's unveiled a fresh new song to kick off 2018.
"Pirouette" was recorded during the same sessions as the aforementioned record, but it will be getting treated to its own release as a seven-inch later this month. It will be paired with "O.K., Meet Me Underwater," which stems from the same sessions.
"Both of these tracks were made during the spring of 2016 — the first demo stages for Everybody Works," Duterte said in a statement. "They were fun to write and record, but felt out of place on the tracklist during the finalization of the album. These tracks remain close to my heart and I'm really grateful they're finally out in the world."
The seven-inch arrives on January 26 via Polyvinyl, but you can stream "Pirouette" right now in the player below.
