Jack White's Dead Weather Already Halfway Through New Album

This summer, when Jack White issued the album Horehound with his latest project the Dead Weather, it was unclear whether the release would be a one-off or if the band were here to stay. Today, singer Alison Mosshart provided the answer.

The front-woman, also known as one half of the Kills, revealed to BBC 1's Newsbeat that the Dead Weather are already halfway through recording their second album and that it could see a release before the end of the year.

"In between now and Christmas, I'm going to go back to [White's studio in] Nashville at some point," Mosshart said. "I think I'll spend most of December in America and finish the second record."

She added that the band are continuing to work as fast as ever, saying, "We kind of wrote 15 songs in three days."

These recording sessions will take place after the Dead Weather finish up another round of touring, which will take them across the UK for the remainder of October. Look for the group to play some of their latest material live, as they've already debuted a few new songs while out on the road.
