It's been years since we heard new material out of Montreal tech-metal maniacs Ion Dissonance, but the band have just unveiled a taste of what's to come from a forthcoming full-length. Get ready to be brutalized by a demo of new tune "Ill Will."
Up front, the band bludgeon with a series of sledgehammer beats, mercurial guitar licks and the barbwire rasp of Kevin McCaughey. The track surges with violent aggression, mixing mathcore time changes and mosh beats as McCaughey screams out his sinister plan: "the time has come to crush you."
Ion Dissonance have yet to detail their long-in-the-works follow-up to 2010's Cursed, but the new track is the first single since the addition of Dominic Girard on bass. The Last Felony guitarist is subbing for an ailing Yanic Desgroseillers.
"The guy shreds, and we are happy to have him helping us out with Bass duties," Ion Dissonance said in a statement. "For those of you wondering, Yanic is still involved with the band and helping with the recording process. Unfortunate health issues have forced him to step aside for now. We wish him all the best and a prompt recovery."
