In This Alone

"L.I.P."

In This Alone ain't exactly true for the Toronto band, as they've accrued a following before even releasing a song. Fortunately, for those eager ears, that drought is about to end with the debut of "L.I.P."

The sound will be somewhat familiar to fans who followed the members from their previous project Partycat. After vocalist Mike Laprocina (ex-Bare Bones) joined the infamous band, they began to evolve their sound, eventually deciding the name change was appropriate. And it was; sure, the southern-fried metalcore the collective performed is still in tact, but there's a sense of melody lacking in their previous project.

Think somewhere between Bring Me the Horizon's Suicide Season and There Is A Hell. Believe Me, I've Seen It. There Is A Heaven. Let's Keep It A Secret., and you're on the right track.

The choruses and occasional synth flourishes don't mean the band have softened, though. Between the driving verse and a breakdown, it's clear they didn't want to drop the metalcore; they just wanted to rock a bit more.
