Hunting

"Broken"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished May 6, 2015

Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Bradley Ferguson unveiled his self-titled debut album as Hunting last year, and now, Nevado Music will be giving it the vinyl treatment come September 18. Before revisiting that record, though, Hunting has shared a new track called "Broken," and Exclaim! has got the exclusive premiere.

Drawing influence from the melancholy ballads of Elliott Smith with a dash of Ryan Adams-esque twang, the new track is a sweet but solemn affair.

"It's a love song about trying to live in the world with other people while having too restless a mind, and feeling broken because of it," said Ferguson in a statement about the new song.

That theme shines through, as he sings "I don't know why I'm never satisfied, but you're still on my mind." The lyrical content is bolstered by a backing of acoustic guitar, drums and slow-building strings.

You can hear it all come together by scrolling past Hunting's upcoming tour dates and giving "Broken" a spin in the player below. As you'll see, Hunting will be playing CMW this week in Toronto.
