Following some short-form releases, Toronto noise-lovers HSY have finally made their full-length debut with Bask. With the record ready to drop this Friday (September 11) through Buzz Records, they have now shared the entire thing.
Starting in late 2014, HSY recorded the album with Josh Korody (Beliefs, Wish) at Candle Recording studio in Toronto. Following the ominous fuzz swells of the instrumental "Into," the soundscape gives way to a series of distorted scorchers in which sludgy fretwork is boosted with pounding drums and raw, angry vocals roads. Even the "Interlude" is pummelling and heavy, while closer "Borg" ends the album with a nightmarish seven-minute surge.
