Hotline TNT — the Brooklyn-based shoegaze project helmed by Will Anderson — have announced their new album, previewed today by new single "I Thought You'd Change." They've also mapped out tour dates for the rest of the year, including a lone Canadian stop in Vancouver.

Cartwheel arrives November 3 via Third Man Records — the band's debut release for Jack White's label. It follows 2021's Nineteen in Love

While Anderson played and sang nearly every note on the record himself based on two very different sessions with musician Ian Teeple (Silicone Prairie) and engineer Aron Kobayashi Rich (Momma), it's the live lineup with August Beetschen, Mike Ralston and Olivia Garner that has made Hotline TNT develop a fervid audience at the intersection of several DIY scenes. Vancouver will see what they bring to the table at the Rickshaw on November 28.

"This song is about wanting a friendship to turn into something more, seeing it happen against all odds, wondering if it was the right thing to do, then wanting it to change back to a friendship or even a secret third style of attachment that I can't identify or hold onto," Anderson said of the melancholic, chugging new track. "This is the first time I've written a song that switches back and forth between two narrators, and I'm not sure which words are supposed to be mine and which are from my lover."
