Hot Chip Prep A Bugged Out! Mix

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Mar 10, 2009

Like Erol Alkan and Klaxons before them, Hot Chip are lending their mixing skills to an upcoming Bugged Out! comp. Simply titled A Bugged Out! Mix, this latest collection from the electro-poppin' Brits is due out on April 27 in the UK via the New State imprint and, like you'd expect, sports quite the eclectic tracklist.

On this double-disc outing, the first CD (dubbed Bugged Out) sticks to a more techno/house theme, with tracks from the likes of John Tejada, Mark Romboy, Dominik Eulberg and Gabriel Ananda, as well as an exclusive new Hot Chip tune called "Take It In." As for the second disc (Bugged In), the Hot Chip guys will throw down everything from pop to soul to grime, and include cuts from Gang Gang Dance, the Andrew Sisters, Hall & Oates, the Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac and Wolfgang Voigt's Gas, among others.

There's no confirmed tracklisting yet or sign of a domestic North American release for A Bugged Out! Mix but if you're over across the pond, Hot Chip are giving a taste of the mix at London's Fire club on March 21. At the party, they'll be doing the DJ thing and provide a bit of live synth and drum machine action as well.
