After reuniting in 2019 for a new album and some group therapy, Hootie & the Blowfish will be getting back on the road for the first time in five years next summer with Collective Soul and Edwin McCain. Christened the "Summer Camp with Trucks Tour," the run of North American dates includes a single Canadian stop in Toronto next September.
"Basically overnight, our lives changed when [1994's] Cracked Rear View did what it did — and yet as we quickly moved from vans and college bars to tour busses and arenas, not much else changed with how we approached making music and sharing it with our fans," lead guitarist Mark Bryan said in a statement. "Edwin McCain told someone at the time that touring with us felt like summer camp with trucks… and that's exactly how we want next year to feel, too. We can't wait for you to join us!"
Kicking off on May 30 in Dallas, Hootie & the Blowfish will spend the dog days of summer traversing the US, with the Barenaked Ladies subbing in for McCain and Collective Soul in Boston on June 21. They won't venture into Canada until the final month in their schedule, performing at Toronto's Budweiser Stage on September 7 before wrapping things up in Palm Beach on the 28th.
