Hollerado Line Up Canadian Fall Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jul 22, 2011

Fun-loving Canuck rockers Hollerado are always up to something crazy: they've toured China and South America, made their own brand of hot sauce and even named a recent EP Margaritaville 2: The Reckoning. Their upcoming tour of Canada, however, doesn't have a wacky theme, or at least not yet.

The outing will take the group across the country this fall. The band will begin in Ontario in September before journeying all the way to the West Coast. They'll then head back and finish up with more Ontario shows in mid-October. The run of dates includes shows with the Pack A.D., Yukon Blonde and Young Rival.

This is currently just a plain old national tour, but Hollerado may soon give the jaunt a goofy name and concept. In a series of tweets, the band solicited suggestions from fans and added, "We've been thinking about making it the 'Meet the Mayor' tour... And try to meet every mayor of every city we travel to. Thoughts?"

If you have a Twitter account, be sure to give the band your suggestions. In the meantime, see the dates below.

UPDATE: So it turns out that Hollerado were only kidding about the "Meet the Mayor" idea -- at first. In a press release, the band explained that after this story went online, mayors from Calgary (Naheed Nenshi) and Regina (Pat Fiacco) approached the band about a meet-up. Now, they are going ahead with the idea.

Hollerado aren't being pushy about meeting the local leaders, but they are "sending an open invite to the mayors of every city we play to come to our show. You'll be on the guest list and can bring friends." The band are also offering to buy the mayor dinner and "take the opportunity to get to know you and your city a little better. We'd also like to talk about ways we can get more involved in and give back to communities that have shown us tremendous support."

They will also asking fans from each city to submit questions through Twitter and Facebook that they can ask the mayor.

Who knew that our original story would have such an awesome fall-out.
