Montreal psych outfit the High Dials are planning to release a new full-length in 2014, and they're gearing up to it with a couple of EPs. The first of those mini-efforts is called Yestergraves, and it's available now.
The EP kicks off with the title track, a jangling cut that anchors psychedelic harmonies with a post-punk pulse. "Echoes and Empty Rooms" similarly blends dreamy '80s aesthetics with vintage melodicism, while the droning synths and dead-eyed darkness of "Evil Twin" are flecked with glitchy electronics and jagged guitar distortion.
