Here's the Nickelback Cover of Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry" That Nobody Asked For

After ceding the title of "worst band on the planet" to Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickelback have opted to honour the work of others with a new cover.

The Canadian rockers' latest single arrives as an artistic overhaul of Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry." It's an unexpected move for the band, but hardcore supporters will be pleased to know that the chunky guitars and Chad Kroeger's growl make it basically indistinguishable from anything else in Nickelback's own catalogue.

"When we get in the studio to take on the daunting task of making a Nickeback record, all the band members have such diverse tastes in music that it's a lot about keeping us happy," Kroeger recently told The Pulse of Radio [via Blabbermouth]. "We don't want to get onstage and play the same kind of music for two hours. We like to make sure that everybody in the band is happy and that seems to be keeping the fans happy."

Thankfully, all band members' equally diverse tastes allowed the band to agree on covering a tune from a dude whose career was built by forming the world's most boring classic rock group. Only time will tell if the new take on "Dirty Laundry" will keep Henley happy too.

Back in 2014, Henley was publicly peeved at the likes of Frank Ocean and Okkervil River for offering their own artistic interpretations of his work. So far, though, he's yet to pipe up about this new cover.
