Nineteen-year-old beatmaker Harrison is one of Canada's most exciting new producers, and the Toronto-based performer will finally deliver his first proper release with Colors next month. Ahead of its arrival, he's shared another taste with "How Can It Be."
As with much of the EP, the new track features vocals from songwriter Maddee. Her smooth singing fits perfectly with the breezy electro pop cut.
In an email to The FADER, who premiered the song, Harrison described their working relationship. "This was one of the first tracks I did with Maddee and it was funny at the time because she's my friends little sister so she would always come over for sessions," he said. "I had also invited friends over. There was about 5 people in the room when it was being made. They were just chilling on their phones or playing video games or whatever and would go quiet when Maddee said she needed quiet. It was very cute."
Listen to "How Can It Be" below. Colors arrives on April 7 via Last Gang.
