No fall is complete without a little pop explosion, or more specially a Halifax Pop Explosion. Now entering its 16th year, the much-loved music fest is once again gearing up to bring music, art and of course pop to the East, and early bird passes go on sale Monday (August 11).

This year the festival, which runs from October 21 to 25, has roped in a choice selection of acts, both from our home and native land, and aboard. So far, the recently announced initial line-up includes Holy Fuck, Woodhands, Retribution Gospel Choir and GZA performing his classic Liquid Swords. Also, a reunited Inbreds will play, as well as Ron Sexsmith with the Symphony Nova Scotia.

Along with the live acts, Halifax Pop Explosion will set the two-day SOCAN Music Matters Conference of workshops, panels and speakers, and bring back the Super 8 Showcase of Film Fun as well.

Come Monday, you can buy your tickets here, or at Ticketpro outlets in Atlantic Canada, online and by phone. Passes will only be available online and by phone.
