From the hypnotic hip-hop of "Environments to the squelch-y languid closing beats of "Slayin the Dragon, San Diego house producers Brian Halo and Eric Hipp-e, combined as the H-Foundation, pump out a solid debut that moves between deep and low-slung beats and hip-shaking super grooves. Weaving their trademark techno-laced four to the floor between moody jazz and dub-infused tracks, the H-Foundation generate a new wave funkiness thats a little more soulful than their trademark club floor booty shakers. While their sound is undoubtedly house inspired, on Environments it is accompanied by the Australian Twenty Four 7 collective, which adds a recognisably live funkified flavour to the mix.
