Toronto roots-rock ensemble Great Bloomers may have only announced their break-up earlier last week, but it appears lead guitarist Tim Moxam is already putting the past behind him with the announcement of his first-ever solo EP, Blue Son. The mini-effort is due out on October 29 through Nevado Records.
According to a press release, Moxam's unique take on Americana and folk guitar playing "reverberates between endearingly joyful and at times haunting" sounds on his new EP, giving "the listener veritable landscapes to meander through as each song plunges us into a narrative matched act for act."
Hear for yourself by listening to the album's powerful debut single, "Live in the Bedroom," in the player below, alongside a video for possible album cut "Come and Gone By" captured by Southern Souls last fall.
Catch Moxam kick off his solo foray with a special performance at Toronto's the Drake Hotel on October 16. Look out for a full-length release sometime in 2014.
As for Great Bloomers, they play their final show at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern on November 16.
