Like YouTube's nerdier, more comprehensive inter-cousin, the Internet Archive (www.archive.org) brings together an astonishing amount of information in one overwhelming package. A seemingly endless list of creative materials are stored within the Archive's terabyte (and growing) of data: over 30,000 live concerts ranging from Billy Bragg to Rogue Wave; nearly 2,000 educational films on such topics as teen dating, homosexuality, and the army; nearly 7,000 feature films ranging from classic (Night of the Living Dead) to camp (Santa Claus Conquers the Martians); a collection of open sources texts and vintage software; plus a nearly complete archive of the entire internet, dating back to 1996. Plus, all materials are offered in a variety of formats, from low-quality streams to lossless downloads, and nearly all are either free domain or creative commons.
