Pairs figure skating may be one of the most beloved of the winter sports, but Gold Zebra's new video for their self-titled set's "Drift Away" presents a pretty gruesome routine.
Based off of cult '80s horror flick Curtains, the La Barbe Rousse-directed video finds an ice queen gracefully performing a layback spin to the sound of Gold Zebra's dark but dreamy, synth-driven sound. Also on the ice, for whatever reason, is a terrifying life-sized doll in a ball gown.
By the end of the video, the skater's masked partner finally shows up, only to cut her down to size. The judges take note of all of this by the side of the rink.
You'll find out if they shave off a few points over the scythe-swinger forgetting to slap on a pair of skates down below.
Gold Zebra is out now on Visage Musique.
