Crushing French kaiju combo Gojira have offered up another deep and pounding preview from their forthcoming Magma release. Before the album bubbles out of speakers in full, you can hear the newly freed "The Shooting Star."
The early part of the song comes cloaked in heavily distorted, if melancholy, guitar riffs. Above this are a series of effects-soaked warnings ("Avoid the darkness / Stay away, stay out of sight"). The tune locks into a hard-chugged groove, though the piece also features laser-pointer lead work before disappearing via an ethereal fade out.
You can sample "The Shooting Star" below, while the rest of Magma lands June 17 via Roadrunner. As previously reported, Gojira will be coming to North America this fall for a tour with Tesseract.
