Goddamn Robots

This group feature a medley of musicians from different Toronto, ON-based bands. On the Goddamn Robots EP, they've come together with a unified sound and mentality: guitar-heavy, ass kicking rock music. One can immediately sense the amount of attention paid to the guitar tones on this EP. The songs feature droning chord changes, power-pop-influenced riffs and sing-along choruses fit for any post-hardcore album. The four tracks on the EP range from fast and heavy to slow and heavy, leaving the listener hoping for something more. "Away" demonstrates that the group are capable of writing songs with complex structures, featuring one of the most beautiful pre-chorus riffs ever recorded. Goddamn Robots have the potential to create a truly crippling album, and this EP is an enticing first step.
