Though the Dillinger Escape Plan won't be heading on their extended hiatus for a while, guitarist Ben Weinman is already focusing his attention on outside projects. Ahead of the release of supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra's debut LP, they've issued a video behind its full-throttle first single, "Crucifixion."
The song had been teased earlier in the year, introducing listeners to the prog-punk blend of busy beats, seething six-string sounds from Weinman and Mastodon member Brent Hinds, and the '90s alt-croon of Alice in Chains' William DuVall. Video-wise, the clip presents simply stated footage of the band jamming with jarring clips of POW camps, atomic bomb tests and dictatorial speeches.
You can check out "Crucifixion" below, while Giraffe Tongue Orchestra's Broken Lines hits stores September 23 via Party Smasher Inc./Cooking Vinyl.
