Get ready to hit the mainframe with Giorgio Moroder. The synth titan has revealed an official soundtrack release for his score to this year's TRON RUN/r videogame, which features his original music and remixes by the likes of Autechre, Plaid and Darkstar.

While TRON RUN/r was released through various gaming platforms earlier this year, the soundtrack release is due to drop on May 31 through Disney/Sumthing Else Music Works. The collection is said to continue the electronic music vibe that has been cultivated via the TRON movie franchise.

"TRON spans several decades of really innovative music, whether it's Wendy Carlos in the first film or Daft Punk. So we wanted an artist who could really span those generations in a legitimate way," the soundtrack's executive producer Christopher Nicholls in a statement. "If you go back to the sound of original electro disco in the '70s, Giorgio is right at the heart of it. He's been pushing electronic music his whole career. We wanted to nod to the first film as well as the later incarnations of the series."

TRON RUN/r features seven original tracks from electronic mastermind Moroder and co-composer Raney Shockne, as well as seven remixes of their work. Contributing their takes on Moroder's music are Bibio, Darkstar, Nicholls, Patten, Autechre, Plaid and Rusko.

Back in the beginning of 2015, Moroder had hinted that EDM figure Skrillex would be a part of the project, but that appears to not have been the case after all.
