Much more down to earth is Gilgamesh, an instrumental fusion-rock collision of Frank Zappa, John McLaughlin and the jazz sensibilities of Gil Evans. Arriving Twice is a compilation of some surprisingly good recordings that were previously unreleased, dating from 1973 to '75. Luckily for them, they avoid the plague of delusion by attempting to create an EP. Although they are a "normal' band on the Cuneiform label, one wonders why such a talented band as Gilgamesh never really took flight. This is, perhaps, what makes them bizarre.
