Gang of Four Announce 'What Happens Next' Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 12, 2014

British post-punk vets Gang of Four now only have one original member, guitarist Andy Gill. So what happens next? Well, they're releasing a new album called What Happens Next on February 24 via Metropolis Records (with the UK release following on March 2 through Membran).

This is the band's first full-length since founding singer Jon King left the band and was replaced by John "Gaoler" Sterry. The new album features a number of guests. Pitchfork notes that Alison Mosshart (of the Kills and the Dead Weather) appears on a few tracks, with other contributors including the Big Pink's Robbie Furze, famed German singer Herbert Grönemeyer, and Japanese guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei.

Mosshart appears on the collection's lead single "Broken Talk." Hear that swaggering rock cut at the bottom of this page.

Also below, peruse Gang of Four's tour schedule. In addition to a number of U.S. dates in March, the group will come to Toronto on March 9.

The band's most recent full-length was 2011's Content.
