Gang Gang Dances latest full-length, Saint Dymphna, may barely be a week old but already the neo-tribalists are talking about a new album, and a double at that. In an interview with Gigwise today (October 29), the bands Brian Degraw revealed that Gang Gang Dance would be recording fresh material come the new year, with the hopes of a summer release.
"We are recording what will most likely be a double album in January... in the desert. A concept record without a concept, Degraw said. He added, "Dunno when the new record will surface... probably in summer, I would imagine.
By the sounds of what Degraws band-mate Josh Diamond recently told Exclaim!, the plan for the double album likely comes as a way to keep their live show kicking and on the road. "We try to keep our live show very fresh, weve changed it a million times, but people wouldnt want to book us anymore, Diamond said. "Theyd say, you dont have a full-length record. I cant believe how much shit is attached to having a full-length record!
