Galactic Cowboys Let It Go

Given that their previous record, At the End of the Day, was so damn good, it was obvious these Houston-based King's X disciples faced a real challenge in trying to best or even just match the quality of that release. With Let it Go, the band's sixth and final full-length release, they've come pretty close. The loss of band co-founder/drummer Alan Doss, and the decision to hand more of the vocal responsibilities to bassist Monty Colvin, have taken the band away from its hard rock roots into a poppier, more melodic and Beatles-like direction. Not that that's entirely bad, but these guys have always been best when they let loose and rock out like they do on "Mr. Disney" and "T.I.M." (Metal Blade)
