Future of the Left are one of those bands that can freak you out both through their sheer aggressiveness, as well as their uncomfortably oddball lyrics. Their twisted take on heavy-handed alternative rock is unsettling to say the least. The Welsh group have yet to announce plans to follow up their 2009 stunner Travels With Myself and Another, but it seems as if they're at least working on something. Three new demo tracks have popped up that prove the band are just as weird as ever.
The sinister "My Wife Is Unhappy" sets the pace strangely as singer Andy Falkous describes a wife's lifelong attachment to the drink before launching into a damaged round of "ba ba baas." "Note's on Achieving Orbit" punches up a Les Savy Fav-style post-punk groove with head-scratching lyrics about Russell Brand. And the high-energy, amp-crankin' garage rocker "I'm the Least Of Your Problems" has us banging our heads too hard to worry about what kind of weird shit the dude's screaming about this time around.
Check all three out below.
