Six-piece collective Freedom Writers have been gaining momentum in Toronto's hip-hop scene these days, even being dubbed an "unprecedented" group of MCs by Juno winner Shad. So it's no surprise they are trying to capitalize on some of that momentum with the release of their video for the track "For the Change."
The video opens with a channel-surfing montage of some classic TV shows before tuning into Freedom Writers' spoof on The Brady Bunch. The group spit rhymes over a super-catchy horn section in the short but sweet track, produced by Big Sproxx.
A statement about the song reads: "Change is a small word but a monumental action. When you willingly take someone out of their comfort zone and question what is perceived as important, standard, reliable and safe... there's no turning back from that decision."
