When Animal Collective’s Noah Lennox, aka Panda Bear, announced he would release a DVD to commemorate a fine 2007, few assumed it would be so difficult. Released by a Philadelphian named Mike and his website Eattapes.com , People Party was an anticipated project that exceeded demand. This oversight forced Mike to accept donations to cover production costs, thus forcing the whole operation into a legal matter over publishing rights. Well, the problem was solved when Mike simply uploaded it as a free download at eattapes.com/Panda?Order.html and on YouTube. Featuring the best performances from three gigs, in there is an entire Panda Bear set. Also included are snippets of opening slots by WZT Hearts, Queens, Eric Copeland and Tickley Feather, as well as sound checks and an interview between Lennox and Mike. Sure there’s no physical product, but then again, how’s that Radiohead album treating you?
