It looks like retro-tinged California psych rockers Foxygen are calling it a day. Although the band haven't announced exactly why they will be heading into the sunset, their dates throughout the spring and summer are being billed as their "Farewell Tour."
The band announced the news with the following tweets:
Unfortunately, the outing doesn't include any Canadian shows. See the U.S. and European schedule below.
It doesn't come as a complete shock to learn that Foxygen are calling it quits. Back in 2013, former touring member Elizabeth Fey wrote a blog post detailing the tension between core members Jonathan Rado and Sam France. She wrote, "They were supposed to be a 'duo' but there was no friendship at all, just contracts that needed to be fulfilled." The group continued on after that incident.
The band formed in 2005 while the members were still in high school. They finally achieved success in the past couple of years. Their last album was 2014's …And Star Power, which came out on Jagjaguwar.
Meanwhile, Rado released a solo album called Law and Order in 2013, while member Shaun Fleming has started his own project called Diane Coffee. Presumably they will now be focusing on these solo endeavours.

It's not entirely clear what exactly this means for the future of the band. Most likely the members will go their separate ways, although the announcement is relatively ambiguous in that it's possible that they will continue to record and/or play one-off shows.
Unfortunately, the outing doesn't include any Canadian shows. See the U.S. and European schedule below.
