Folly & the Hunter Sign to Outside for 'Tragic Care'

Outside Music recently announced that it had signed Leif Vollebekk, and now the label has added another promising Canadian act to its roster with Folly & the Hunter. The Montreal indie folk trio will release their sophomore album, Tragic Care, through Outside on April 16.

The album was recorded at Montreal's Breakglass Studios with Jace Lasek (of the Besnard Lakes) and Dave Smith. Its sound reportedly mixes timeless folk with more modern influences from indie rock and post-rock.

Outside head Evan Newman said in a statement, "Jace from the Besnard Lakes referred them to Outside Music and upon first listen, I knew this was a special record and immediately flew to Montreal to meet them. It's rare that a band like this comes along and we're over the moon to have them on the label."

This sophomore collection follows Folly and the Hunter's 2011 effort Residents. The band will support Tragic Care with some Canadian tour dates, plus head down to Austin's SXSW as well.
