Flying Lotus and LeSean Thomas' New Netflix Anime Now Has a Release Date

'Yasuke' will arrive next month

Way back in 2018, we learned that Flying Lotus was teaming up with LeSean Thomas (The Boondocks, Black Dynamite) for a new Netflix anime series. Today, more details on the show, including its release date, have finally been unveiled.

Yasuke will hit the streaming platform on April 29. Its first season will be made up of six episodes. 

As previously reported, the show follows the real-life story of Yasuke, who was the first samurai of African origin who fought with the feudal lord Oda Nobunaga in the late 16th century.

Yasuke will be voiced by Atlanta/Sorry to Bother You'Lakeith Stanfield. In addition to executive producing the show, FlyLo has also contributed its original score.
