Flood

Stone Core Fever

BY Roman SokalPublished Apr 1, 2003

Flood are of the stoner rock realm, a scene that has somewhat died down at least in the hype end of things, but with this French Canadian band, they maintain the true spirit of the music, and they do it rather well. Though they do not add a new perspective to this genre, their Kyuss-esque approach, (with all its piston pounding and carburettor choking and chugging riffage) is welcoming, and certainly so by an apt vocalist, which is something that, when bad, can ruin one of these types of groups immediately. Hopefully Flood's sounds hit European shores, and if they never get radio airplay, it is assuming that they should at least be heard regularly through the PA systems of la belle province's strip joints.
