Regina-based nu metallers and Exclaim! New Faves alum Flash Back have released a new two-track EP titled North American Nü Metal II in addition to announcing a North American West Coast tour.
North American Nü Metal II showcases the band's signature mix of nu metal and alternative rock, and explores the complexities of the digital age with "The Truth" and "The Oath."
"Writing lyrics for 'The Truth' forced me to weigh the pros and cons of being chronically online," said lead vocalist Nathan Daschuk in a statement. "The desire to be free from social media is certainly something many of us experience in the digital age. However, choosing to disconnect also means removing a multitude of parasites from your life. Although I have recently limited my social media intake, the lingering emotions persist whenever I'm logged on."
Flash Back begin their West Coast North American tour next week. It includes two Canadian stops: one in Calgary on June 8 and another in Vancouver on June 9. Check out the full schedule and listen to the new EP below.
