After over two decades of music-making, electroclash duo Fischerspooner have called it quits.

The duo of Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner made the announcement in a post on Instagram today. "FISCHERSPOONER IS DEAD LONG LIVE FISCHERSPOONER," the post reads, while the caption adds, "THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING."

Initially founded as a performance art troupe, Fischerspooner made their debut with 2002's #1. That effort was followed by 2005's Odyssey, which featured contributions from David Byrne, Linda Perry, Susan Sontag, Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson and more.

In 2009, the duo released their album Entertainment before taking nearly a decade to follow it up with 2018's Sir. The record was co-written and executive produced by R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe.
