Taking many cues from now defunct label mates Sublime, Filibuster pick up the pieces and construct a very pleasurable musical puzzle. Blending various musical styles into a single concoction known as Filibuster doesn’t seem to be a problem at all for this band. Jazz, ska, raggae, rap and funk are evidently heard and felt in the booty throughout every track on this musical journey into a trippy, dope influenced realm known as The Means... The opening track “Blunt,” is an excellent instrumental guide into the non-stop rump shaking grooves laid down by the second song “6 Wheels.” “Eye 2 Eye” offers an insightful message regarding human relations, backed up by an unforgettable back beat, and churning bass lines. Even though this is only a seven-song CD, quantity is not an issue because it’s enormous on quality rhythms that instantly ignite non-stop dancing, dope smoking, or both. Hopefully, The Means... isn’t the end for Filibuster because if this is the beginning, more Filibuster is in order!
