We've already caught wind of a few of this year's Festival International de Jazz de Montréal performers, including Belle & Sebastian, She & Him and Camera Obscura. Now, the annual event has added another big-name performer to the bill by announcing that Feist will kick off the 2013 festival with a free show.
The gig will take place on June 28 — the first day of the festival — at the TD Stage in the Place des Festivals. This marks Feist's first performance at Montreal's jazz fest since 2005. The Friday night TD Grand Opening Event is scheduled to get underway at 9:30 p.m. local time.
The festival will additionally offer a program of free outdoor concerts and activities, with further announcements coming on June 4.
The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal runs from June 28 to July 7. Purchase tickets for a number of the shows — including the aforementioned acts, plus Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Dr. John & the Nite Trippers, the Cat Empire, Aretha Franklin and more — over at the festival's website.
