Family of the Year

"Carry Me" (lyric video)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 30, 2015

Los Angeles-based folk-pop ensemble Family of the Year followed up their 2012 effort Loma Vista with a self-titled full-length earlier this year. Now, they're ready to unveil a brand new lyric video for "Carry Me," and Exclaim! has got the premiere.

The track is a gentle, folksy tune that gets bolstered by percussion and sweet vocal harmonies throughout the chorus. The accompanying visuals keep it simple, switching between footage of a dusky city skyline and of the band members singing straight-on into the camera as the lyrics are scrawled across the screen.

"There's been some tough times and people in our lives who have gone through dark times," said the band's Joe Keefe about the meaning behind the song, "but they have people to help them persevere."

Hear the hopeful ditty and follow along with the lyrics in the new clip below.

Family of the Year is out now via Nettwerk Records.
