Already friends with Skinny Puppys Dave Oglivie and counting Henry Rollins among their fans, Vancouver spazz punks Fake Shark - Real Zombie! can now add Sarah Slean and Awkward Stage music video director CJ Wallis to their six degrees of separation. This is due to the fact that Fake Shark front-man Kevin James Maher is currently scoring a short film by the director called Last Flowers. The film stars Sarah Slean and will also include Elliott Smith and Sigur Rós on the soundtrack.
At 20 minutes long, the film is being prepared for entry into the Sundance Film Festival, and will hopefully be available for public viewing in early 2009. Meanwhile, Fake Shark - Real Zombie! are still in the studio, hard at work on the follow-up to their internationally released Zebra! Zebra! debut.
