A Failure for Every Season

A Failure for Every Season

Wearing your influences on your sleeve is fine, but when it is done as obviously as A Failure for Every Season have managed to on their latest release, maybe its time to reconsider. The Southern Ontario unit are far from being the worst band in the sea of redundant emo as their songs are enjoyable, melodic and carefully written and at times, the vocal melodies and drums are actually interesting. However these six songs are direct re-interpretations of Further Seems Forever, the Juliana Theory, Glassjaw and Finch. If the band’s goal is to become yet another forgotten Drive Thru Records emo band, then they are definitely on the right path. Maybe it’s time for the band to put away the Thursday records and spend some time exploring their musical boundaries.
