Englebert Humperdinck

The Dance Album

BY Rob FerrazPublished Dec 1, 1999

Non-stop dancing action from the man your parents, maybe grandparents, used to groove to. Yes, Englebert is back and he’s burning up the dance floor with hits old and new, all to the throbbing beat of today’s popular sounds. There are a few easy listening tracks thrown in to appease the elderly fans who may not dig the redone versions of their old faves like “Quando Quando Qundo,” “Release Me,” “A Man Without Love,” “Spanish Eyes” and “After The Lovin’.” You can’t really blame them though since the synthetic sound brings out the phoniness inherent in modern dance music. There’s also a Spanish version of “Quando” and a Spanglish one of “Spanish Eyes.”
