Elephant Stone — the Montreal psych-rock outfit helmed by Rishi Dihr — have announced their forthcoming sixth studio album, previewed by new single "The Spark."
We'll get Back into the Dream on February 23. It follows 2020's Hollow — one of Exclaim!'s most anticipated Canadian albums that year — and 2016's Ship of Fools.
"Our music aims to bridge the gap between the known and the unknown," Dihr said in a press release. As its title suggests, the album explores the unconscious mind, circadian rhythm and every other blurry mystery toggling between sleep and wakefulness.
The band will bring the new music on a North American tour next year, shortly after the LP's release. Beginning with a hometown show at Outremont Theatre on March 22, Elephant Stone will venture into the US for several shows before returning to Canada for a final performance at Toronto's Baby G on March 31.
Of the woozy new single, Dihr added, "Crafting a song is like tapping into a kind of magic that exists beyond the realm of the ordinary. I'm in perpetual pursuit of that elusive sensation — the spark that turns fleeting thoughts into something immortal. 'The Spark' is my love letter to the art of songwriting, a tribute to the creative process itself. It's about that serendipitous moment when time and space align, allowing you to capture lightning in a bottle."
