Barcelona-based tropical pop genius El Guincho (née Pablo Díaz-Reixa) is gearing up to release a new album, Pop Negro, on September 14 via Young Turks. El Guincho set the bar very high with his breakthrough, Alegranza, so we've been dying to hear if he can do it again.
Fortunately, we won't have to wait any longer, as the full album is now available for streaming one week early. In place of samples, El Guincho opts for live instrumentation this time around. The tropical, sun-soaked arrangements are still there, but the album is decidedly more electronic.
