Edmonton's Slates Head Out on Canadian Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished May 25, 2012

For nearly four years, Edmonton quartet Slates have performed a unique style of punk that touches on Springsteen-esque anthems with a hint of emotive post-hardcore and the Replacements. It's a strange concoction, but as evidenced on their 2011 album Prairie Fires, it works. Now, the hard-working group have announced plans to take that unique style on a cross-Canada tour.

Before you blow a gasket saying that it's not actually a cross-Canada tour if they don't go from ocean to ocean, let us clarify. No, they're not heading west from Alberta, but they are hitting up shows in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and New Brunswick. That's pretty damn "cross-Canada" if you ask us.

Check out the full tour schedule below, along with a full album stream of Prairie Fires, which can be purchased through Handsome Dan Records.
