A month on from the tragic terrorist attack on Paris' Le Bataclan venue that claimed the lives of dozens during an Eagles of Death Metal concert, the American rock group have announced make-up dates for their subsequently cancelled European tour. The newly booked trip begins in February.
While talk of a make-up tour has been floated around over the last few weeks, the band officially unveiled the schedule to "The Nos Amis Tour" today (December 16).
The tour, whose title translates as "The Our Friends Tour," will begin in the middle of February in Stockholm, Sweden. The outfit make their way back to Paris a couple of days later, where they'll play the city's Olympia. Despite last month's traumatizing attack, guitarist/vocalist Jesse Hughes revealed in a statement that skipping the Paris "was never an option."
He writes:
The people of Paris have always been incredible to us, and our feeling of love towards this beautiful city and its people has been reinforced a million times over this past month. Hearing the stories of the survivors, the injured and those who have lost loved ones has been overwhelming. Not returning to finish our set was never an option. We look forward to coming back in February and continuing our mission to bring rock 'n' roll to the world.
As previously reported, the attack killed 89 concert attendees, including fans, Eagles of Death Metal merch seller Nick Alexander, and Universal Music Group employees Thomas Ayed, Marie Mosser and Manu Perez.
Since then, the band have encouraged artists worldwide to record their "I Love You All the Time" to help raise funds for the survivors of the attacks. Eagles of Death Metal also performed the song with U2 at one of their restaged concerts in Paris last week.
