Boston hardcore vets DYS recently brought themselves out of hibernation for the pig-pile-approved live set More Fashion: Live from the Gallery East Reunion, but the announcement of a new online singles series suggests the outfit have more on their minds than just trotting out their greatest hits.
Bridge 9 records confirms that DYS have recorded a handful of newly crafted originals and covers. Between November and March, the old-school hardcore outfit will deliver one tune a month. First up is "Wild Card," which will be premiered November 1 via Revolver and be available for sale on November 8. That's its cover art above.
Upcoming tracks include "Sound of Our Town," which salutes their Beantown brotherhood; "Unloaded"; and "(We Are) The Road Crew," a Motörhead cover that's apparently been a staple of the band's live set since their reunion. A fifth and final song, which premieres in March, will be announced at a later date.
All tracks were produced by Andrew Murdock (Avenged Sevenfold, Riverboat Gamblers) at the Hobby Shop Studio in L.A. and feature founders Dave Smalley and bassist John Anastas, joined by guitarists Franz Stahl (Scream, ex-Foo Fighters) and Adam Porris (ex-Far From Finished), as well as drummer Al Pahanish Jr. (ex-Powerman 5000).
These are the first new studio tunes from DYS since their seminal self-titled sophomore effort from 1984.
