Dynamite Boy

Somewhere In America

BY Rob FerrazPublished May 1, 2001

Dynamite Boy gives Green Day a run for their money, if only because the singer sounds an awful lot like Billie Joe Armstrong, and even though they make an effort to not sound like pop punk's reigning kings, the similarities are there. This is their second release, and shows more polish and variety than the first, which wasn't particularly memorable. All the ingredients are here for an excellent pop punk main course: catchy songs, sing-along harmonies, earnest words about alienation and even the occasional female back-up vocals. If you dig the pop, this is worth your time.
