Doomriders

"New Pyramids" + Full Live Set

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 9, 2013

Doomriders have yet to fully details their impending third LP, but the metal/hardcore/hard rock explorers have begun playing some new tunes out on the road. The band's set in Quincy, MA, this past Monday (May 6), for instance, opened with a fresh cut called "New Pyramids."

The track starts up with a hypnotic drum rattle and a screeching guitar bend passage, but ultimately rolls out over a series of eerily trilled-out licks, thick and doomy chords, and viciously spat screams from head honcho Nate Newton. You can see the crushing cut and the rest of their set in the player down below.

As previously reported, the band took to Newton's Converge bandmate Kurt Ballou's GodCity studios in Salem, MA, this past January. A release date has not yet been set for the follow-up to 2009's Darkness Comes Alive, but it's expected later this year.
