The Dodos tend to favour instrumental minimalism, but that's not the case for their upcoming Record Store Day (April 19) 7-inch, which finds the duo backed by the Magik*Magik Orchestra.
Laid down at San Francisco's Tiny Telephone Recording, the band performed new versions of 'Substance" and "The Ocean" from last year's Carrier. The former can be streamed below, and it adorns the pounding rock cut with lush strings.
This will be released on yellow 7-inch vinyl in an edition of 1,000 via Polyvinyl.
